Come dicevo qui ieri, oggi altra giornata con i parenti. Mamma ha iniziato a cucinare alle 9 l’anatra all’arancia: qualcuno ha idea dell’odore di grasso che si sparge per la casa quando si cucina l’anatra?! Considerate che la cucina è a piano terra, il forno nel piano interrato, mentre le stanze al piano superiore. L’odore (la puzza di grasso!!!) si è espanso per tutta la casa, una cosa proprio indescrivibile…. L’unica cosa che ho potuto fare è stato accendere una candela marchiata Yankee Candle in camera mia per respirare un po’ di aria profumata.Giusto sabato sono andata al Viridea e mi sono comprata il contenitore per bruciare i votivi della Yankee Candle: so di non averne ancora parlato, anche se è nella lista dei trilioni di cose delle quali voglio raccontare, ma ho proprio una passione sviluppatasi negli ultimi sei mesi per queste candele profumate.
Nella mia vita non sono mai stata una gran fan delle candele profumate, e fino alla maggiore età mi veniva praticamente impedito di accendere candele in camera col terrore di scatenare incendi. Sul web qualche anno fa c’era veramente la mania delle Yankee Candles, così questa primavera mi sono decisa a provare una tartina (profumazione Fireside Treats). Beh ragazzi, da lì non le ho più mollate. Soprattutto Fireside Treats è la mia preferita, odora di marshmallow, di dolce, di buono *_* l’adoro tantissimo.
È andata a finire che qualche settimana fa mi sono comprata una serie di 15 votivi su Amazon (questo prodotto qui) con fragranze un po’ a sorpresa: alcune mi piacciono di più alcune meno, ma tutte anche tenute spente in giro per casa emanano un gran profumo.
E così riallacciandomi al discorso iniziato prima, sabato mi sono comprata il portacandela della Yankee per bruciare al meglio i votivi (non avevo un contenitore adatto). La fragranza Yankee Candle che sta bruciando or ora è Christmas Eve che viene descritta così dalla casa produttrice: “Il tradizionale profumo di vacanze di un caldo focolare, prugne zuccherate e frutta candita”, sinceramente dolce è, ma non troppo. Non è stucchevole e non infastidisce con altri odori.
L’ho accesa giusto giusto il 24 dicembre mentre preparavo qualche salsa per il giorno dopo, e mi ha piacevolmente sorpresa perché in due giorni di candela non mi ha ancora stufata. Il formato votivo certo dovrebbe durare sulle 8 ore continuative (15 ore se utilizzate nei propri bruciatori), ma secondo dura un qualcosina di più, perché la mia candela è quasi finita, ma è stata accesa praticamente tutto il giorno tra il 24 e il 25 e oggi.
È un piacere prendersi una pausa tra uno schiamazzo e l’altro di bambini e venire in camera a respirare un po’ di “Christmas Eve”. 🙂 Buon proseguimento di giornata a tutti!
